Creating Margin in Ministry Through a Side Hustle and Travel Hacking, with Tim Walker (Ep 126)

“We also need to have an equal investment in rest and replenishment for the sake of longevity.”

When we read a book, a wide margin keeps the content from going off the edge. This makes the reading experience less stressful.

Margin does the same thing in life and ministry. In this conversation, I talk with Tim Walker about three important aspects of having more margin in life and ministry:

  • First, the new world of the side hustle culture, and why it can be an answer for pastors and churches to do more ministry with less stress.
  • Second, the necessity of creating margin in our life, in our finances, our time, our energy, and our families.
  • Third, Tim introduces us to the importance of time away from the church, the value of travel, and how to do this well without adding an additional financial burden, through the lessons he’s learned about travel hacking.

Tim is the pastor of Restored Church in Wilkes-Barre, PA, and runs the Travel Multiplier website. He was also my guest on Ep 86: Vibrant Ministry From A Traditional Building In A Difficult City.
