Bible Reading Coach, Week 41 (Matthew) Jesus, the Messiah

This is as big a week as we’ve had yet. Not only do we move from the Old Testament to the New Testament, we also start the Gospels and meet Jesus for the first time.

This week we start reading the New Testament, with the book of Matthew.

In this longer-than-usual teaching I talk about what happened between the testaments so we can have a better understanding of the big changes ahead. Then we walk through Matthew and its message of the kingdom of God, including Jesus’ birth, the Sermon on the Mount, his miracles, his death and resurrection.

Everything changes now.

The Bible Reading Coach podcast is designed to help anyone read through the Bible in a year. In 10-15 minutes each Friday, I’ll introduce you to the passage for the following week, including:

  • What it’s about
  • How to deal with challenging passages
  • How the original readers saw it
  • How it applies today
  • And much more

After listening, take the next week to read the passage on your own. This time you’ll have a clearer understanding of it.
