There’s a lot more going on in the book of Numbers than it usually gets credit for!
As we saw last week, because of their lack of faith God sentenced everyone but Joshua and Caleb to die in the desert for the next 40 years. But even in the desert God does great things, which means there was a lot of work to do.
Unfortunately, it starts with more rebellion and disobedience, this time from a group led by a man named Korah. After that, even Moses disobeys and loses out on the Promised Land because of it.
There’s also a deadly disease, a bronze snake, a talking donkey, and a well-placed spear.
Also, the borders of the tribes are mapped out. Here’s a link showing the Old Testament tribal borders side-by-side with today’s map.
