Getting more people to go to church has never been the point of church growth.

Jesus didn’t tell us to “work really hard to gather people into large crowds to fill up your church buildings. Then I’ll know that you love me.” But when you look at how most pastors (including me) spend much of our time and energy, sometimes it feels like we think that.

All of that is true, but it would be so exciting to see Christians have a heart to be in church again, instead of excited about a sports, movie night some place or family night that just doesn’t end up being family night. But for some reason when the Family is at church that turns into a family night, singing praying, laughing and enjoying God and his family.
