In the last few years there have been a lot of articles written about what’s wrong with worship music, and how to make it better. So many that they’ve been labeled the Worship Wars. This isn’t about that.
Instead, I want to suggest four trends that are not happening in church songs that I think we’re ready for. And if we aren’t ready, we need to pave the way for them.
The starting point for these potential trends is not what I think is wrong with Christian music. It’s about taking what’s right about today’s worship (as seen in my previous article, 5 Positive Trends In Today’s Worship Music) and building on it.
